Summer Candles That Bring The Beach Into Your Home

Ahhh, the scents of summer. Coconut, fruit, ocean air, suntan lotion. My favorite summer candles bring these soothing, intoxicating scents into my home and transport me to the beach with the strike of a match.  I am a beach lover through and through. I dream of living in a cottage at the seashore. I imagine open windows and hearing that wonderful sound of the ocean waves crashing onto the shore and the tranquil feeling of the ocean breeze wafting through my hair. Well, a girl can dream. When I can’t make a trip to the beach for a much needed vacation, I can simply light a candle that brings the beach to me, the scents of the beach anyway. In this post, I highlight my favorite summer candles from Yankee Candle. (This is not a sponsored post.) I have listed the fragrance notes of each candle. Fragrance notes are made up of top notes (the initial fragrance), middle notes (the heart or main body of the fragrance), and base notes (the final fragrance that is left after the scent fully develops).
Sun and Sand
This is my absolute favorite. If you like the scent of suntan lotion from the 70’s (think Coppertone or Sea and Ski) you’ll love this candle. This candle smells amazing. I hope Yankee Candle never discontinues this one. Fragrance notes of Sun and Sand Candle (from the Yankee Candle site): Top notes: Orange Flower, Freshness, Citrus; Middle notes: Orange Flower, Elemi, Eucalyptus, Lavender; Base notes: Neroli, Powdery, Musk.
Beach Walk
This candle captures the scent of the salty, fresh ocean air beautifully. It creates a tranquil environment that is reminiscent of a long walk along the beach. Fragrance notes of Beach Walk (from the Yankee Candle site): Top notes: Ozone, Tangerine, Clementine; Middle notes: Sea Moss, Salt Water, Orange Flower; Base notes: Musk, Orange Blossom.
Vanilla Lime
This yummy candle truly smells like a vanilla lime ice cream float. I can definitely smell the citrusy lime and the creamy vanilla that reminds me of vanilla ice cream or custard. This is a unique scent that just screams summertime. Fragrance notes of Vanilla Lime Candle (from the Yankee Candle site): Top notes: Kaffir Lime, Lemon Zest; Middle notes: Sugar, Cocoa; Base notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean.
Island Spa
This is one of my favorite candles to light anytime of the year. It’s lightly scented with a fresh, breezy fragrance. Island Spa is the perfect name for this candle. According to the Yankee Candle website, Island Spa candle is a “revitalizing escape.” So true. Fragrance notes of Island Spa Candle (from the Yankee Candle site): Top notes: Lemon Zest, Fresh Greens, Sweet Mandarin, Mango; Middle notes: Fresh Mint, Verbena, Tea Leaves, Peach, SheerJasmine; Base notes: Cedarwood, Vanilla, White Musk, Violet.
Beach Wood
This candle has a unique fragrance of earthy wood and ocean air that makes me think of driftwood washed up onto the shore. This is a fragrance that is warm and relaxing. It definitely sets a mood. If you don’t enjoy candles that are fruity or flowery, you will probably like this one. Fragrance notes of Beach Wood (from the Yankee Candle site): Top notes: Cypress, Incense; Middle notes: Ivy, Incense; Base notes: Woody Notes, Moss, Vetiver.
Pineapple Cilantro
This scent is unique. As Yankee Candle describes it, it’s “a tropical treat.” Fragrance notes of Pineapple Cilantro (from the Yankee Candle site): Top notes: Pineapple, Herbal, Cilantro, Coconut, Apple, Orange; Middle notes: Violet, Basil, Green Ivy; Base notes: Vanilla.
The next time you are visiting Yankee Candle, give these candles a sniff and see if you enjoy them as much as I do. What candles do you enjoy during the summer? Please leave your favorites in the comments section below. I’d love to find some new ones to try. Thanks for stopping by Glamboree!
